It seems like just a few weeks since we were settling down with EA’s latest football sim. And we were; the next gen version, however, is worth a second look. Built on the new Ignite engine, the upgraded technology means EA can do a whole lot more with the technology at its fingertips. Immediately noticeable are the crowds and stadiums. No longer a slightly zombie-like afterthought, the crowd now acts more like a real one, celebrating and cheering in a more realistic way. Meanwhile, on the pitch things are also getting a dose of realism. Player movement is more lifelike. The AI is a little more intelligent and it all just looks better. It means you need to be more precise and it certainly ups the skill level. Putting the Xbox 30 version side by side with the Xbox One and you can see the difference clearly. Your Ultimate Team will transfer to the next gen version, but one much lamented loss is the offline tournament mode.
