Ergo buys Cork-based licensing specialist Micromail

Firm will continue operate independently

IT services provider Ergo has bought software licensing specialist Micromail for an undisclosed sum.

As part of the deal, Micromail, which is based in Cork, will continue to trade under its own name and operate independently of Ergo. Micromail is a Microsoft Licensing Solutions Partner, and offers licensing consultancy and software asset management services to companies. The company also supports licensing solutions including Adobe, VMware, Kaspersky and AutoDesk. It employs 15 people and has a turnover of €14 million.

Ergo chief executive John Purdy said the acquisition would be a significant addition to the firm's competencies "at a time of huge change in the IT industry".

“With the acquisition of Micromail we see an opportunity to help our customers get the best value out of their software by providing a one-stop service for cloud and on-premise that covers licensing as well as architecting and implementing the solution,” said Mr Purdy.
