It’s Doodle Jump’s fifth anniversary, and to celebrate, the team behind it have come up with a new game: Doodle Jump Race. The mini game is styles after the original Doodle Jump, with a similar graphical style and characters. The main difference this time is that you are pitting yourself against a group of racers who are all trying to avoid the obstacles and get to the finish line first. You have to tap the screen to jump through the gap in the barrier; if you fail to make a clean trip through, you’ll bounce backwards and forwards til you get it. With a bit of strategy though it’s easy to zip through the race, meaning you’ll be at the finish line far ahead of your competitors. It’s short and to the point; the replay value is all in the bragging rights as you build up your score by placing highest. There’s no option to play offline yet though, because you need an internet connection to add in the extra racers. So this is one for wifi and mobile internet covered areas only for now, which is a shame. Still, it’s a mini game, which means you can’t expect too much from it.
