DJI’s latest drone seeks to Inspire

In the market for a drone? DJI is offering a drone that bridges the consumer and the professional market – the Inspire 1. It comes with a camera capable of recording 4K video and delivering 12 megapixel still images, with carbon fibre arms that lift out of the way so they don’t impede your video feed.

The range has been improved too, with the video feed available up to 2km away. All you need to add is your own mobile device so you can view the footage live.

The app controls everything from the camera to takeoff and landing, with further functions expected with updates. Flying indoors is possible without GPS, with a specially designed camera and sonic waves brought into the mix. The Inspire 1 will still set you back a sizeable chunk of cash – in the region of $2,900. Better get saving. http://www.dji.com
