Dell creates a new Commerce Services R&D Centre in Dublin

Upwards of 50 highly skilled software professionals to be recruited for new centre

Dell is to locate a new Commerce Services R&D Centre in Dublin, resulting in the creation of more than 50 highly skilled jobs.

The company has begun recruiting for software engineers, technical programme managers and test engineers to help roll out the first phase of the new R&D centre.

The company said the team that will be located at the new centre will play a pivotal role in the evolution of Dell’s online offerings, making it easier for customers and partners to do business with Dell online.

The computer giant said the R&D work done at the centre will lead to increased functionality for Dell.com improving the customer experience for the millions of people and businesses Dell engages with daily.

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Richard Bruton said the Government is trying to deepen the impact of investments by large multinationals and attract higher value activities.

“Today’s announcement by Dell is a great example of this trend – here is one of the biggest companies in the world, deciding to locate a high-end commercial R&D centre in Dublin, with the creation of more than 50 high-end engineering jobs,” he said.

Operating in over 100 countries and 34 languages, Dell.com is one of the largest online retailers in the world.
