Irish venture capital firms will have invested more than €499 million in Irish technology companies in 2001, according to Mr Neil O'Leary, managing director of Ion Equity.

He told last night's First Tuesday meeting in Dublin there was growing interest among international venture capital companies in the Irish market. "For companies looking at expansion or searching for later stage finance, the outlook is actually very positive," he said.
