Shares in German Internet service provider T-Online International tumbled yesterday after the surprise resignation of chief executive Mr Wolfgang Keuntje.

T-Online said Mr Keuntje had resigned from the company for personal reasons with immediate effect. A spokesman for T-Online parent company Deutsche Telekom declined to comment further but industry sources said Mr Keuntje had been frustrated at the tight control exercised by Deutsche Telekom chief executive Mr Ron Sommer.
