Swiftcall, the Dublin-based cut-price telephone service provider, said yesterday it had become the first fixed-line company to offer the benefits of interconnection with the Telecom Eireann network since the deregulation of the industry last December. Swiftcall said it could now offer enhanced services, significantly cheaper international call costs, as well as key benefits such as direct access to Swiftcall accounts and a new, six-digit freephone code, 13-12-77. The company said it had introduced a new rate for all calls in Ireland of 9p a minute, and that customers could use their account through freephone numbers in Britain, France and Germany.
