BEING in charge does have its benefits as Xilinx Ireland managing director Dick McQuillen showed during the week.

The reception held in the Shelbourne Hotel to mark the company's official opening was kicked off with Guinness washed down with fresh oysters. Guests then sat down to seafood chowder, followed a huge seafood buffet spread.

All the fishies, prawns and the like came from the famous Co Galway restaurant Moran's on the Weir. McQuillen, the Margin learned, worked at Digital for more than a decade and regularly made the pilgrimage to Moran's. So when the company was throwing a party he choose his favourite restaurant to provide the nosh.
