Strong sales in Scandinavia and the euro zone helped to drive revenues at fruit and vegetable distributor Total Produce up by 7 per cent last year to €2.6 billion, writes Steven Carroll.
Total’s preliminary pre-tax profits increased by 18.4 per cent to €33.6 million for the year, up from €28.4 million a year earlier.
Revenue in Total’s fresh produce division increased by 8.3 per cent to €2.52 billion aided by currency strength in British and Swedish markets.
On a constant currency basis, fresh produce revenue increased 5 per cent due to increases in volume and average prices. Revenue in the group’s Scandinavian division rose by 9.6 per cent to €602 million.
