The search for the 1998 New Journalist of the Year is now open to third-level students. Promoted by the Irish Science Journalists' Association (ISJA), in association with ICL, the competition aims to encourage emerging journalistic talent to specialise in science and technology reporting.
Prizes include a £1,000 PC for the winner and cash for the runners up. The competition is open to students of any discipline attending third-level colleges in the Republic or Northern Ireland. Prizes will be awarded for the best published or broadcast material on any area of science or technology, such as engineering, medicine, information technology, environment or the natural sciences.
