UCD business school’s masters in finance ranked 36th in world

MSc the only such course offered by an Irish third-level college on ‘Financial Times’ list

UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School's masters in finance has been ranked 36th in the world and 31st in Europe in a survey published on Monday.

The Dublin university’s MSc in finance as the only such course offered by an Irish third-level college to be included in the Financial Times Top 60 Global Masters in Finance rankings.

The survey is the latest to rate a UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School course amongst the globe's top 50.

Recently, its executive development programme was ranked 48th in the world and 26th in Europe for its open enrolment programmes in a similar Financial Times study.

Last September its MSc in international management was ranked 22nd in the world in the Financial Times Masters in Management ranking.

Welcoming the news, Professor Ciarán Ó hÓgartaigh, dean of the UCD College of Business, said that it underlined the school’s commitment to maintaining and increasing standards.

"As Ireland seeks to attract FDI in the wake of Brexit, having a world-class business school with strong links to industry will ensure prospective employers have access to the highly skilled workforce they need," he added.

The Financial Times rankings assess the performance of business schools across the world and are independently adjudicated.
