A gaming technology company backed by the Smurfit family has announced a partnership with a US casino group to launch the first ever simulated gaming online casino experience in the United States.
GameAccount Network (GAN), a developer and supplier of enterprise-level B2B gaming software and online gaming content, is to partner with Foxwoods Resort Casino to offer online casino users the ability to enjoy the Foxwoods experience from their own electronic devices. Foxwoods is the largest resort casino in North America, operating six casinos.
Scott Butera, president and CEO of Foxwoods Resort Casino, said that the "cutting edge technology will enhance the overall guest experience and allow them to bring the excitement of Foxwoods with them wherever they go."
The simulated gaming online casino will be accessible to players around the world through multiple platforms, including Android phones and tablets, iPhones, iPads, and mobile formatted browser-based play. It features over 50 games from the GAN library, including dozens of slot and table games supported by creative promotional offers from Foxwoods that are available to anyone who plays.
"Converging online with land-based gaming is central among our key missions and Simulated Gaming demonstrates our ability to monetize free-to-play gaming and will drive increased visitation to the operator's property," chief executive Dermot Smurfit jnr said.
The US is slowly opening up to online gaming and gambling and GAN is one of a handful of technology companies eligible for licences to supply services into the US market.
