Four A-wear shops continue to trade following the appointment of a receiver to the retail fashion chain last week.

Outlets in Dundrum, Blanchardstown and Grafton Street in Dublin and on O'Connell Street in Sligo remain open, the company said in a statement this afternoon, and there are plans to re-open at least five more stores by next week.

The company said it had not yet decided which stores will re-open and which will remain closed.

A-Wear has 31 Irish outlets and nine UK concessions in total. Ken Fennell of Kavanagh Fennell was appointed as receiver to the chain last week, which had been in examinership since early last month.
