Mercroft Taverns, the company behind popular Dublin city-centre pub the Market Bar, has reported a a pre-tax profit of €410,457 for 2013.
According to accounts recently filed with the Companies Registration Office, the company had a deficit of shareholders funds at the year-end of €309,329. The abridged accounts did not provide a turnover figure.
A note attached to the accounts for Mercroft Taverns, said the “company continues to depend on the support of its bankers, trade creditors and directors.”
The accounts show the company had a bank loan of €1.1 million at year-end 2013.
Mercroft Taverns is run by John Reynolds, a nephew of former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds, and promoter of the Electric Picnic music festival. Restaurateur Jay Bourke resigned as a director of Mercroft Taverns in December 2014, while his business partner Eoin Foyle resigned as a director this year.
