A&L Goodbody announces Eileen Roberts as new chairwoman

Ms Roberts replaces Catherine Duffy, the law firm’s first ever chairwoman

Corporate law firm A&L Goodbody has appointed Eileen Roberts as its new chairwoman.

Ms Roberts, a partner and former head of the firm's litigation and dispute resolution department, replaces Catherine Duffy, who became the first woman to hold the job in A&L's history when she was appointed in May 2016.

Ms Roberts, is a former director of the charity Junior Achievement/Young Enterprise Ireland and a member of the Irish Commercial Litigation Association.

Managing partner Julian Yarr said Ms Roberts' appointment would enhance the firm's approach to providing a diverse and engaging work environment for its employees.

“The chair of the partnership is an important role for the firm,” said Mr Yarr

Ms Duffy is to continue her role as one of the law firm’s senior finance partner while Ms Roberts will also continue to work with existing clients alongside her role as chairwoman.

A&L Goodbody employs more than 800 people, including 98 partners, across offices in Dublin, Belfast, London, New York, San Francisco and Palo Alto.
