Question: For some of the technologies you talk about to be widely adopted, luddite attitudes would need to change and funds be provided. What is the best way of going about this?

Answer: Just ignore these people and go with the positive people. Technology and the majority will do the rest you can opt out, but you cannot escape.

Q: Will such technological sophistication further marginalise a large sector of the world's population?

A: It could do but on the other hand it would allow them to bypass the industrial revolution which was a social and ecological disaster. Education and skills will be all in this race.

Q: You think the Internet is going to put a lot of people out of business through inability to compete, how can this be addressed by businesses that don't get online early enough?

A: They have to move fast, get educated and trained, get involved, and recruit some young and capable people, and get online if it is appropriate take advice.

Q: You currently use an Apple laptop, why is this your preferred choice?

A: MSDoS, Windows 95 and Windows NT are difficult, and need three to five times more support than Mac OS they are a pain. Mac is a technology that works really well.

Q: Do you ever suffer from technological overkill?

A: Yes, and it is self-inflicted. I try all the technologies I can get my hands on, but I quickly back off and use what fits my needs best. Not all technology works well for everyone common sense should rule.

Q: If you weren't doing what you are doing, what job would you choose?

A: I would reset my body clock to 22 years old, take my brain with me, and start all over again, but in genetic engineering. That is where all the excitement is right now and where I could probably best contribute.

Q: When you look to the future, what is your most overwhelming emotion?

A: Excitement.
