Are you a saver or a spender?
Currently I'm saving. During the pandemic, I started saving, doing the obvious by not going on holidays and not going out for dinner – because, frankly, I couldn't. So I worked on saving, and I'm continuing to save, in moderation, even as the restrictions ease.

Do you shop around for better value?
I love a bargain and value for my money, but if I know it's something local or a brand I believe in, I will spend more on it.

What has been your most extravagant purchase and how much did it cost?
When I first started earning bigger pay cheques, I used to splash out on designer shoes, with one pair costing as much as €800. As Carrie Bradshaw once said in Sex and the City, "I'll literally be the old woman who lived in her shoes", so I changed my ways.

What purchase have you made that you consider the best value for money?
I love vintage and thrift shopping for clothes. I have gotten so many timeless gems for an absolute bargain, one example being a stunning Max Mara coat for €50.

How did you prefer to shop during the Covid-19 restrictions – online or local?
I try to shop local as much as possible, even when I'm shopping online. Thankfully, even local shops can be found online now so I can support them from the comfort of my own sofa. There are loads of new and innovating online mom-and-pop shops that have been birthed out of the pandemic, and that's great to see.

Do you haggle over prices?
It depends what country I'm in. Not haggling is seen as an insult in some cultures. I tend not to haggle in Ireland, though, as it doesn't seem to be part of our culture as much.

How has the Covid-19 crisis changed your spending habits?
The obvious changes are in spending habits, such as not dining out as much or going on holidays. I've also cut back a lot in buying clothes, but I have spent a lot on groceries and lounge wear so perhaps it evens out.

Do you invest in shares?
Yes, I invest in shares and some small amounts on cryptocurrencies, mainly because I find it all really fascinating. I like to put money on companies, currencies and businesses I believe in.

Cash or card?
I'm all about the cashless society. I take it to the next level and choose phone wallet.

What was the last thing you bought and was it good value for money?
The last thing I bought was a pair of vintage Levi jeans on pre-loved fashion site Thriftify.ie for €12. That's pretty good value.

Have you ever successfully saved up for a relatively big purchase?
Yes, I have. It's not easy but it's very rewarding. There's something enjoyable about saving up for something and then getting it. Makes it taste even more sweeter.

Have you ever lost money?
I have lost money on silly things such as a bet or a share plummeting, but I always stick by the rule of don't put in what you can't afford to lose, so I'm okay with that.

Are you a gambler and, if so, have you ever had a big win?
No. Any bets I have made I have always lost, so I've learned I am not a gambler and shouldn't go there.

Is money important to you?
Yes, money is important to me. I enjoy the freedom that comes with it. I wish nothing more than to see my friends and family filled with abundance and, of course, health.

How much money do you have on you now?
I currently only have my phone on me to pay for things, so if my battery dies I'm a bit screwed.
