Bank of Ireland assures customers over wages

’We acknowledge some payments are being processed later than customers anticipate’

Bank of Ireland has moved to reassure customers whose accounts were not credited this morning that they will be during the course of the day.

A statement said they were aware of the “high volume of social media” comment by those whose who have not yet received salaries and payments.

One vexed customer tweeted: “Any chance that my wages will be put into my account today? Kind of need money to live”.

Bank of Ireland said transactions are currently being processed and will be updated soon.

“We regularly remind our customers that in the post-SEPA environment, payments process throughout the day,” it said.

“We acknowledge that some payments are being processed at a later time than customers anticipate but we wish to reassure our customers that any credit due into their account today will be processed today.”
