New Eircell product cuts cost of calls to mobiles from fixed lines

Eircell has unveiled a product that cuts the price of calls to its mobile phones from fixed lines

Eircell has unveiled a product that cuts the price of calls to its mobile phones from fixed lines. The ProLink, which costs £450 (€571), routes such calls entirely through Eircell's own mobile network. This allows users to pay Eircell's 10p per minute rate between its mobile customers, rather than the 19p per minute charged by its parent, Telecom Eireann, for calls from fixed lines to mobiles.

Eircell said the ProLink made sense for small companies that spent more than £200 a month making calls from fixed lines to mobile numbers. The product rivals the BeeLine, a similar device released last month by Digifone.
