Coca-Cola Bottlers Ireland has appointed a new managing director. He is Mr Alfie Lydon, who was previously deputy managing director. Mr Lydon, from Galway, has worked with Coca-Cola for 21 years. The company, which employs 600 people, bottles all Coca-Cola company brands.

Mr Lydon succeeds Mr Warwick White who has been promoted to another post within the Coca-Cola Hellenic Bottling Company.
