PITY the poor officials at the Department of Finance. Taking a breather, or so they thought, after the last EU finance ministers' meeting this week, they heard their Minister emerge to announce another meeting would now be held on the eve of the Dublin summit next week.

No easy challenge to arrange the logistics and find the hotel rooms a week before Christmas, but no doubt the boys in Merrion Street will rise to the challenge.
