Irish viewers will be able to watch Peacock's original and acquired programming through the Sky platform for no additional charge from Tuesday as Sky and its US sister company NBCUniversal begin a rollout of the streamer's content in Sky territories.

As well as Sky's pay-TV subscribers, holders of Sky's Now entertainment membership will also have access to Peacock's catalogue as part of a soft-launch of the brand in the UK and Ireland.

NBCUniversal, which like Sky is owned by American telecoms giant Comcast, first introduced the Peacock streaming service in the US last year.

Current Peacock Originals include the revival of teen comedy Saved by the Bell, sitcom Rutherford Falls and reality series Vanderpump Rules, while upcoming series include a drama adaptation of the Joe Exotic story that featured on Netflix's docu-series Tiger King, a new reboot of Battlestar Galactica and David E. Kelley drama The Missing.

The service, which also includes many archive series and films, will later be added to Sky's platforms in Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland.

“The introduction of Peacock content on Sky and Now will expand the incredible line-up available to all our customers, giving them access to even more of the best entertainment from our partners at NBCUniversal,” said Zai Bennett, managing director of content for Sky UK and Ireland.
