Richard Sadlier firm makes €40,000 in profit

The media firm of RTÉ football pundit Richard Sadlier made a profit of almost €40,000 last year, according to accounts just filed to the Companies Office.

Knocksink Media Limited was set up by the former Ireland international in 2014 and filed its first full-year financial statements last week.

The accounts show that the company reported profits of €39,725 during 2015 and had accumulated a cash balance of €28,163 by the end of its first year in business.

Mr Sadlier (37) is the sole shareholder in the company and is listed as a director, along with Catherine Sadlier (34).

The RTÉ panellist was regarded as a highly promising striker before his career was cut short by injury at the age of just 24. He scored 34 goals in 103 starts for Millwall, winning the Second Division Championship in 2001.

He made only one international appearance for the Republic of Ireland against Russia in 2002 but was considered likely to make Mick McCarthy’s World Cup Squad later that year, before being ruled out by a hip injury that was to end his career.

Mr Sadlier has since worked as a columnist and pundit, and is a former CEO of St Patrick’s Athletic FC.

The accounts show that Knocksink Media Ltd was owed €19,725 by its debtors at 31 December 2015, while €8,163 remained payable to creditors of the firm - all of which related to VAT.
