Peter McPartlin has been appointed chief executive of MediaCom Ireland. The former Today FM boss will lead the media buying and planning agency in what is a newly created role.
Mr McPartlin, a well-known figure in the Irish advertising industry, has previously worked for Aegis Media, Irish International and OMD Ireland and consulted for media owners such as Independent News & Media, UTV and the Irish Times. He left the Communicorp radio station after four years last November.
He said the MediaCom role was an opportunity “to work with the team in Dublin on some iconic brands” and grow the business in Ireland.
Karen Blackett, chairwoman of MediaCom UK & Ireland, said Mr McPartlin would be "tasked with continuing the growth of the agency" here. MediaCom is part of GroupM, the parent company for the media agencies owned by global advertising giant WPP.
Communicorp has yet to announce a new chief executive for Today FM.
