The Irish Independent has started its search for a new editor, following the departure of Claire Grady during the summer.
The daily newspaper, the flagship publication of Independent News & Media, said it is looking for an editor with the vision to lead the newspaper "through its next period of digital expansion".
Ms Grady stepped down from the position in August and Ian Mallon, group head of news, took on the role of editor on an interim basis.
Stephen Rae, group editor-in-chief, Independent News and Media, said the group is looking for an editor "with a superb eye for detail, thorough grounding in current affairs and the experience to lead the print title's editorial team in producing ground-breaking quality content for the Irish public."
