Packaging company Smurfit Kappa has moved its Irish exchange listing to a secondary one as it upgrades its UK listing to a premium one, paving the way for its entry to the FTSE indices.

The next review date for entry to the FTSE listings is the end of May. Smurfit’s changes to its listings became effective on Monday morning.

Smurfit Kappa is one of the leading providers of paper-based packaging solutions in the world, with around 45,000 employees in approximately 370 production sites across 34 countries and with revenue of €8.1 billion in 2015.

It has a presence in 21 countries in Europe, and 13 in the Americas, and is the only large-scale pan-regional player in Latin America.
