Connemara Mining changes name to Arkle Resources

Gold and zinc explorer Connemara Mining has changed its name to Arkle Resources to better represent its geographical spread across Ireland.

The company, which currently holds 37 mining licenses across the State, passed a special resolution at its recent extraordinary general meeting (egm) to effect the change.

The company’s ticker will change from CON to ARK.

“We believe our rebranding will allow us to better represent the Company’s diversified position in both gold and zinc exploration and resource development and our geographical spread across Ireland,” said chief executive Patrick Cullen.

The explorer also updated shareholders on its current activities, noting that planning is underway for further exploration at its Mine River gold project across Wicklow and Wexford.

Drilling phase

Additionally, the drilling phase at its Stonepark zinc joint venture in Co Limerick is "nearing completion". Another joint venture, the Oldcastle zinc project in Cavan and Meath, has had a further three holes drilled to assess the potential of the prospect.

“We look forward to focusing our attention on the Mine River gold project in the near term, while our joint venture partners advance our interests at our the two key zinc assets,” Mr Cullen said.
