Mackie division wins £3m contract

MACKIE Environmental has won a £3

MACKIE Environmental has won a £3.4 million sterling contract from Severn Treat Water for engineering work at Derby Sewage Treatment Works in England.

The contract is for both works and modifications at the treatment plant and is due to begin in January 1997.

According to the Belfast based company, it gives Mackie Environmental an excellent foundation for meeting its 1997 growth projections.

Mr Pat Dougan, executive chairman of the company's parent, Mackie Group, said the contract is in line with its diversification strategy.

Mackie Environmental, which is based at the group headquarters in west Belfast, began trading in May 1993. It principally supplies equipment to water and industrial companies. According to the company, it is set to become a major contributor to group profits.
