German shares were stable at the end of after hours trade with the DAX index marginally ahead on Tuesday's close, having taken the higher than expected February M3 money supply figures in their stride.
The IBIS DAX index closed up 6.99 points at 2491.73. "There was a cautionary reaction to the M3 figures but the market seems fairly stable. We're nearly at the end of the month, and the first quarter, and the market seems to have entered a quietish period,", said one trader.
Paris CAC-40: 1969.79 (+2.59)
The market finished marginally higher despite a weaker opening on Wall Street. Buying of blue chip stocks and firmer bond prices helped it to stabilise but dealers said it showed little direction.
Milan Mibtel: 9461 (+4)
Milan shares ended a touch higher after the turnaround in the domestic bond market triggered by weaker than expected US February retail sales and supported by the mixed start on Wall Street.
