From Monday, Lifetime customers with protection policies, aged between 18 and 54, may now avail of a new "broken bones" benefit. If a policyholder suffers one of the injuries as the result of an accident they will receive a specified lump sum payment.
Payments range from £700 (€889) to £2,300 for various injuries. If a customer suffers a fracture of an upper leg or an open fracture of the skull they receive £2,300; a fracture of a lower leg or the arm, £1,300; jaw fracture or dislocated shoulder, £1,000; collar bone fracture, £700.
The benefit costs £3 per month for women and £5 a month for men. The age, occupation or lifestyle of the insured does not affect the benefit.
