Interface Business Information (IBS) and the ISME have urged the Irish Trade Protection Association's (ITPA) members to reject the proposed takeover by Experian.

The ITPA is holding an extraordinary general meeting next Monday to approve the takeover of the association by Experian, a British credit agency. Interface has told ITPA members to vote no. It has also suggested they should consider the merits of Interface and what it offers and has asked for a period of discussion to examine the feasibility of its proposal.

The merits, it claims, "would be good for both parties". It has also argued that Interface could be "the ideal partner for the ITPA". ISME, which has common members with the ITPA, has also asked for the proposals to be rejected so that the future of the ITPA "can be properly developed to ensure that the member's interests are considered".
