Invisible presence at Aer Lingus ball

No end to the dire times at Aer Lingus, which may now be facing a trading loss for the year.

No end to the dire times at Aer Lingus, which may now be facing a trading loss for the year.

This was especially bad news for the State carrier, which is about to embark on the search for a new chief executive to replace Michael Foley, the man it sacked last week. Foley, who denied sexual harassment, has kept his counsel ever since.

Peripheral to the case were rumours about Mr Foley's alleged behaviour at a now infamous cabin crew ball in Shannon during January. The Margin hears the event is now seen as "the GPO in reverse" among airline staff.

Many who weren't present in the GPO during the Rising of 1916 later claimed to have been there, at the centre of the revolution as it were. Some in Aer Lingus who attended the Shannon event now claim not to have been there at all! Best to stay off-centre, eh.
