A new HomeBond service to adjudicate on complaints about various non-structural defects in new homes has been introduced. The Minister for the Environment and Local Government, Mr Noel Dempsey, requested that a new service be set up to deal with house buyers' complaints earlier this year.

The service will focus on complaints about non-structural defects from the first purchaser of a home within one year of the completion of the sale.
