The High Court was asked yesterday to extend the period of court protection by way of examinership to two USIT companies - USIT Ireland Ltd and USIT World.com..
Consideration was given to extending the protection until a date in early June. Mr Justice McCracken will confirm the actual date today. USIT Ireland, the group's main retail outlet, continues to trade.
The judge will also consider today an application to lift the court protection of examinership to USIT World plc, the group's holding company, for which there is no scheme of arrangement.
When the case was before the court earlier this month, counsel for a Northern Ireland company USIT Ltd, stated to be a very substantial creditor of USIT World plc, indicated it wanted USIT World plc to be put into liquidation.
