Oneview Healthcare, the Irish hospital software group, has joined a UK pilot project to improve the care of prostate cancer patients.
The company, founded by Dubliner Mark McCloskey, will be part of a group developing a software platform that can measure the impact of new electronic patient care plans for those being treated for prostate cancer.
The pilot is expected to run for 18 weeks from next month and could lead to commercial opportunities for Oneview and its partners. These include Oxford University's Chancellor Masters and Scholars Trust, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and an unnamed data analytics company.
Oneview chief executive James Fitter said the research "represents an important new product opportunity for Oneview in the UK market".

Freddie Hamdy, Nuffield professor of surgery of the University of Oxford, said increasing pressure on healthcare services internationally required modern technological solutions.
