Dublin-based software company, Gradient Solutions, has announced a three-year contract with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines which is estimated to be worth at least £787,500 (€1 million).
The deal is a significant coup for Gradient, which specialises in software and services for the travel industry, because its software will now be distributed to the 20 participating airlines in KLM's global alliance.
Gradient's software will allow KLM sell its flights and other travel services directly to customers via the Internet.
Gradient, which was founded two years ago by Mr Stuart Coulson and Mr Gerry Samuels, has arranged a "per click" payment structure with KLM, where it receives a percentage payment for every air ticket purchased online.
Gradient's CyberCRS technology saw off competition from major international players, including Microsoft, the large Computer Reservation Systems, the Internet Travel Network and Travelocity.
