Exploration firm Petroneft Resources is drilling the first of 10 new Russian production wells.

The Siberian-focused oil and gas company, which is listed on Dublin’s ESM market, intends the 13 million-barrel site in Arbuzovskoye to be production-ready by September.

Output at Arbuzovskoye number-one well is 300 barrels of oil a day, which is expected to increase after a pipeline fault is resolved.

“We are delighted to have commenced drilling of the first of 10 planned new production wells at Arbuzovskoye, where our existing well has demonstrated very encouraging production characteristics,” said Petroneft chief executive Dennis Francis.
