Natural resourcesInfrastrata, a gas storage and petroleum exploration company, has been given the green light to develop a £400 million natural gas storage facility in the North.

Its construction could generate 200 jobs over seven years.

InfraStrata will develop the facility through its joint venture with Moyle Energy Investments-Islandmagee Storage. The facility will be built a mile beneath Larne Lough.

Northern Ireland minister for the environment Alex Attwood said he was confident the storage facility could be developed in a way that develops the economy while protecting the environment.
