Almost 80 new jobs to be filled in two Irish companies

Two separate company announcements have unveiled the creation of almost 80 jobs.

The Dublin Whiskey Company said 30 jobs it is creating as part of the redevelopment of its distillery site in the Liberties will come on stream next year.

It plans to create a range of single malt and Irish pot still whiskeys with the capacity to produce up to two million bottles annually at its 25,000 square feet premises.

Once completed in late 2015, the working distillery and fully immersive visitors centre will be able to facilitate over 75,000 visitors a year.

Meanwhile, Irish electricity provider Pinergy has said it will fill 46 sales positions in Co Tipperary and Co Limerick, in association with management company DSM.

Pinergy is an Irish owned pay-as-you-go energy provider supplying households with “no more bills” solutions to electricity through the use of smart meters.

Speaking at today's announcement, chief executive Enda Gunnell said the "expansion shows that Irish consumers are voting to take control of their electricity costs and are choosing to say goodbye to big bills. We are confident that there will be more new jobs created as Pinergy's expansion continues."

The new positions bring employment at the company to 89.
