EMU countries' credit ratings are unlikely to change much from current standings except in Belgium, Denmark, Finland and Ireland. These countries debt, currently, differently rated, will be unified with the advent of the monetary union, according to Standards Poor's.

The agency said the EMU would have a largely beneficial impact on companies debt ratings.
