New support scheme for Covid-hit businesses opens for registration

Business Resumption Support Scheme provides a once-off payment of up to €15,000

Eligible businesses can now register for a new support scheme targeted at companies significantly impacted throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Business Resumption Support Scheme (BRSS) provides a once-off payment of up to €15,000 to businesses who commenced trading no later than August 2th and who have been significantly impacted by restrictions imposed due to the Covid crisis.

To qualify, a business has to be able to show a decline in turnover of at least 75 per cent in the year to the end of August.

The BRSS is a targeted support for companies, self-employed individuals, partnerships as well as certain charities and sporting bodies. Eligible businesses may make a claim for support under BRSS irrespective of whether they have previously qualified for other Covid-19 related Government schemes.
