Dublin start-up Cognikids has qualified for this year's Bloomberg Pitch.
Ollwyn Moran, a Neurological Developmental Therapist will pitch her business to a Bloomberg invited audience of around 170 venture capital and angel investors, from across the financial media company's portfolio of clients.
Ms Moran is the founder and CEO of Cognikids, which makes patented “gripsuits” allowing babies to move around on hardwood flooring.
The company also makes patent-pending intelligent baby products such as a sensory soothing bib for teething babies and a baby bottle gripper which makes self-feeding easier for babies.
Ms Moran said the investment proposition has passed two separate qualifying rounds, including a live pitch in competition with other applicants.
“We now have the opportunity to talk directly to some serious investors about our business development potential,” said Ms Moran.
The investors' event will be held on Monday July 11th and will be hosted jointly by the Irish International Business Network (IIBN), in collaboration with Bloomberg.
There will be ten business presentations and investors are mainly drawn from the greater London area, with high net worth individuals, venture capitalists, private equity and corporate venture funds participating.
Funding raised previously at Bloomberg events has ranged from £25,000 to £5.2 million with around one in four of the businesses invited to pitch successfully receiving funding.
Ms Moran appeared on the 2016 series of RTE’s Dragons Den earlier this year, attracting interest from dragon Gavin Duffy, who offered the full amount of investment asked for.
However, Ms Moran could not offer the large percentage equity Gavin was looking for.
