Mike Bloomberg, founder of the eponymous news-wire agency, has established a very distinctive corporate culture. In the newsroom at headquarters on Park Avenue in Manhattan, there's an open workspace. There are no titles and employees come in early and leave late. The foyer contains food, so employees can eat at their desks if necessary. Mr Bloomberg demands loyalty from his staff. He reportedly never attends farewell parties and never wishes anyone leaving good luck.
He also never allows anyone who left the company to return to work for him. He believes that if they leave, it was his mistake to hire them in the first place. And, no doubt, a worse mistake by them to leave.
