Veolia to add 60 new jobs to its Irish operations

Engineering and environmental services group Veolia Ireland is seeking to add 60 new staff to existing Irish workforce of 700.

Veolia provides energy, waste and water services to big manufacturers in life sciences, IT, healthcare, and food and drink production. The company’s clients include multinationals and big Irish businesses.

The group is recruiting 60 staff from graduate to senior level across its offices in Dublin, Cork, Kilkenny and Belfast as it expands to meet growing demand from clients.

Veolia wants to hire electrical, mechanical and process engineers, technicians to work on keeping specialised plant and equipment fully operational and waste managers.

Carbon neutral

Over the past year, inquiries from clients seeking to cut greenhouse gas emissions and save money have grown by 75 per cent, according to Veolia.

The company maintains that industry’s efforts to meet the State’s aim of halving emissions by 2030 and becoming carbon neutral by 2050 are driving this demand.

Donna Marie Masterson, head of HR at Veolia Ireland, said clients' focus has shifted as they bid to cut their carbon footprint.

Minister of State for Business, Employment and Retail Damien English welcomed news that the company intended creating 60 new jobs.
