BRITISH firms have been urged to ensure their computer equipment is locked in place following a 60 per cent increase in thefts in the last two years.

The Association of British Insurers has produced a video and information sheet called Save IT, designed to alert firms to the risk of computer theft and advising what steps they should take to protect equipment.

Estimates suggest computer thefts have jumped by 60 per cent over the past two years.
