UrbanRedevelopment: The former university residence, Hatch Hall at Hatch Street, Dublin 2, is likely to be converted into apartments or a hotel when later this week the Jesuit order selects one of the tenders submitted to selling agents DTZ Sherry FitzGerald.
At least two of the bidders are understood to have offered over €15 million for the building, which accommodated third-level students for the past 90 years.
The 2,787 sq m (30,000 sq ft) building is listed for preservation and is currently laid out as 80 single and double bedrooms. It would require substantial changes to convert it into apartments or a hotel.
Other facilities include a chapel, games room, concert hall and dining hall.
