Four-star Co Limerick hotel guiding up to €2.75m

Georgian Castle Oaks overlooking Shannon has 20 bedrooms and 22 more in garden unit


Castle Oaks House Hotel in the village of Castleconnell, Co Limerick, is expected to attract considerable interest from investors and the strongly-performing hotel industry when it goes for sale from today by private treaty.

John Hughes of selling agent CBRE is guiding €2.5 million to €2.75 million for the mainly Georgian building with 20 individual bedrooms and another 22 two-bedroom units in a garden extension.

The four-star hotel is located on an elevated site overlooking the river Shannon, within 10km of Limerick city and less than 40km from Shannon Airport, with daily connections to the UK, the United States and Europe.

The main Georgian building has been restored and extended over the years and offers elegant facilities that appeal to a broad range of customers, many of them from the nearby University of Limerick campus and the National Technology Park at Castletroy.

The hotel is also well known throughout the midwest region as a wedding venue and is expected to host some 70 weddings this year. The attractive Stradbally suite, with its unique stained-glass windows, parquet dance floor and picturesque garden views, can accommodate up to 280 guests.

The hotel is being offered for sale on the instructions of Tom Kavanagh, receiver of certain assets of David Coleman and JJ Murphy.
