Blanchardstown forecourt has redevelopment potential

An exceptional commercial site with redevelopment opportunities at Main Street in Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, comes on the market today through Lisney.

Ross Shorten of the agency is quoting €2.5 million for Ryan’s Garage which covers an area of 0.32 of a hectare (0.8 of an acre) and includes a car showrooms, service area, petrol filling station and parking facilities.

The garage has more than 50 metres of frontage on to Main Street and has been in business since it was set up in 1963 by businessman Tim Ryan.

He and his brother Jim were leading GAA footballers in Meath in the 1950s and 60s. The garage premises extends to 560sq m (6,000sq ft).

The management plan to relocate the business to an alternative premises in the Blanchardstown vicinity once the sale has been agreed.

Lisney say the garage site could well be used for a multistorey commercial development to take advantage of its key location or possibly a drive-through restaurant or a mixed commercial/ residential scheme.

"This is a superb site in the centre of a busy Blanchardstown village and virtually opposite the Supervalu Shopping Centre," says Ross Shorten. It is also within a five-minute drive of Blanchardstown shopping centre and retail park.
