Capital acquisitions held by industry for the third quarter of 1998 dropped to £526.1 million (#668 million) from £617

Capital acquisitions held by industry for the third quarter of 1998 dropped to £526.1 million (#668 million) from £617.8 million for the same period in 1997, according to figures from the Central Statistics Office (CSO).

The CSO said the major contributor to the total figure was acquisitions of machinery and equipment which amounted to £339.6 million in the third quarter.
